This week we continued our series on hope.
We found out that Often times when Hope shows up it is not what we had hoped for.
Alot of times we hope for temporal things, things for our felt needs. Things that we think we want or we hope to get out of the consequences from bad choices that we have made.
Jesus offers real Hope. Not hope to get out of trouble but forgiveness. He knows our on felt need, He knows our real need for Hope, forgiveness.
What are somethings that you have hoped for that were just felt needs, something that would not be eternal?
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where Christ gave you real Hope? Tell your story.

I definatly had to agree with this weeks lesson! I use to find myself putting my hope in temporal things, and now I have to deal with the consequences. Do I wish that I could jump in a time machine and change them.. yes all the time, but I can't. I know I have to face the time I have now forget what I have done in the past and place my hope in something better which is Christ.
ReplyDeletei know i usually hope for things that i don't need. Luckyly I have a God who loves me enough not to those things to me.
